Hold tight. Not long now. Spring’s just around the corner. Well, once the current decade of August is over.

It’s difficult enough to keep up with the days at the moment, let alone the fashun seasons too daaaarling.

I’ve had several conversations recently around the fact that women have lost touch with what’s next when it comes to clothes; mostly because we’re just not venturing out for anything right now (at least in Victoria) and even for those in cities where restrictions have eased, bricks and mortar clothes shopping is still not high on the agenda.

That doesn’t mean that women have lost interest in ‘what’s in style’ though. It’s just harder to see.

Making a stealth ‘just browsing’ detour through your favourite stores during lunch hour or on your way to pick up dinner supplies is no longer an option for most. As a result, the fashion intel that comes from those stolen moments of longingly and lovingly running your hands through clothing on racks (or is that just me?) is lost.

Instead, you’re left with the more convenient but arguably less appealing option of working it all out online. Often late at night with only a glass and a half (so that’s what we’re calling it now) of something fruity to keep you company. Recipe for sartorial disaster. If not A LOT of fun at the time.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Stick with me and I’ll walk you through the latest seasonal trends so that you can avoid the guilt of buyer’s regret and ‘tags still on’ syndrome. Because we all know the treck to the post office to return a late night impulse buy makes the Everest climb feel like child’s play.

Last Saturday I took my lovely SuperStylers on a quick meander through the online stores in hot pursuit of this stylist’s pick of trans-seasonal essentials in my weekly ShopShare video (which you too can get shipped directly to your inbox every Saturday by subscribing to my newsletter here – scroll to bottom of page).

Interesting side note, there are eleventy eight ways of spelling trans-seasonal. Here are my personal faves – trans-seasonal, transeasonal, transseasonal.

By now you should be left in no doubt that NOW is the time to buy trans-seasonal.

And if you have the chance to watch my celebrated (well I know three people watched it. Including my mum) sneak peak into a personal stylist’s wardrobe, you’ll discover that I have a tight collection of 33 (or was that 35?) ‘A team’ superstar pieces supported by a solid B team of players who sit patiently on the bench. Lurking in that reserve team, waiting for just the right season to make its style debut, is THE ULTIMATE trans-seasonal piece, the Trench Coat, which I’ll confidently bring out for a run as soon as the temperature rises a little. Puffer jacket my friend, prepare to be sidelined.

Now if you do need an added reason to join my lovely list, and you’d like to get a better feel of me before we take our relationship to the next level, check out this week’s BONUS Trench Coat edition of ShopShare where I reveal my top trench coat picks of the season (from luxe to less). I’m counting on the fact that a sentence that includes Trench Coat and reveal should be enough to get you all hot and bothered enough to sign up NOW.

As cries of ‘take the trench, off the bench’ ring in my ears I bid you a fond farewell until next time, as I eagerly await your subscription request.
